Lillian Crispin was the wife of Leonard J. Crispin, a former Sergeant in the Torbay Police Force and Head Buyer for the Co‑Op Meat department. She contributed to the Handmade Pie Company by creating variations of the traditional Devon pie recipe during wartime rationing and passed these recipes to her daughters and grandchildren.
