About Josiah
Josiah Merriman, son of Anson Merriman, was a key figure in Rogers Orchards' history. He studied horticulture at the New Britain State Normal School (now Central Connecticut State University) and planted over one hundred acres of peach trees in the 1890s, contributing to the farm's expansion.
