Reverend R. Irvin Smith was the founding pastor of Voice of Praise Worship Center (originally Bluewell Pentecostal Holiness Church). In the fall of 1952, he and his wife Virginia led a revival in a small tent in Bluewell, West Virginia, and subsequently established the church, guiding its early development and growth.
