About John
John Bagge was appointed by Governor Alexander Spotswood as the rector of St. Anne's Parish in 1716, a position that was contested by the parish vestrymen who selected Giles Rainsford. The governor’s choice prevailed, giving Bagge the role of minister during the early years of the parish.
