About Louisa
Mrs. Louisa A. Leland was the founder of The Saluda Inn. In 1914 she acquired the Goelette property at 229 Greenville Street, hired local builder Luther Thompson to remodel it into a Colonial Revival‑style inn, and opened the establishment, naming it The Charlton Leland in honor of her husband.
