Rev. Dr. John Crosdale, D.D., a native of Baltimore, served as the first full‑time Rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland, from February 5, 1855 until his death in 1878. He is buried in St. Mary’s churchyard and is known as the “Father of the Diocese of Easton.”
