Arthur Beasley

Arthur Beasley was a deacon of the white New Bethel Baptist Church who played a key role in founding St. John Baptist Church. He helped secure a meeting space for the colored brethren, encouraged the establishment of a separate church, and later assisted with the construction of the church building by providing land and financial support.
