About William
William Brown Allen was the brother‑in‑law of Thomas Shannon Jr. He, along with Shannon, donated one acre of land for the construction of Shady Grove Church on September 16, 1859, and contributed lumber from his farm for the building, playing a key role in the church’s early establishment.
