Hugh A. Pennal, M.D., was a long‑time Panhandle psychiatrist and regional chair of the Texas Tech University Health Science Center Department of Psychiatry in Amarillo. An endowment was established in his honor to support the annual Hugh A. Pennal Lecture Series, which brings Amarillo health‑care providers together to discuss behavioral health topics.
