About Arakel
Arakel Yazijian was an Armenian immigrant who founded New England Sheet Metal Works in Fresno, California, after fleeing persecution in Turkey in 1911 and moving to Worcester, Massachusetts. He established the company in 1920, which later became a fourth‑generation family business and a finalist for the 2015 California Family Business Award.
