About Walter
Walter Hill was a general contractor from Sanger who secured a permit from the Forest Service in 1935 and led the construction of the Mono Hot Springs Resort, opening it in 1937. He built the resort’s general store, wooden cabins, and later a cobblestone bathhouse, and remained active in the area until his death in 1972.
