Eleazar Villalpando is the founder of Las Palmeras Mexican Restaurant in Sunset Beach, NC. Born in San Felipe, Mexico, he worked as a water vendor and for Samsonite before immigrating to the United States in the 1970s. He spent 16 years at a pasta factory in California, later moved to the Carolinas, and in 2006 opened Las Palmeras with his family.
