Elmer Huckaby founded Huck Salt Company in 1938, starting the business by harvesting salt with a shovel and wheelbarrow and later building a harvester that still operates today.
John Huckaby is the son of founder Elmer Huckaby and has been involved with Huck Salt Company since childhood. He officially joined the business at age 16 and took over leadership in 1990 after his father's passing.
