About Edmond
Rev. Edmond Johnson (1867‑1881) was the founding pastor of First Baptist Church – Gainsboro, the oldest Baptist church in Roanoke, Virginia. He established the church on September 30, 1867, in a dwelling on Hart Avenue, and led the congregation for 14 years, guiding its early growth and the purchase of the first brick church building.
