John Dillard is the great‑grandson of the founder and the resort manager of Dillard House, a historic farm resort in Dillard, GA. Captain John Dillard was awarded a 1,000‑acre land grant in 1794 for his service during the American Revolution and is credited with forging a peaceable trade with the Cherokee for the land that would become Dillard House.
