About Jerome
Jerome B. "Rome" Freeman was the original owner of Chimney Rock, purchasing the land and surrounding 400 acres for $25 around 1890. He later sold 64 acres, including the chimney and cliffs, to Dr. Lucius B. Morse for $5,000 in 1902, enabling the development of the park.
