Dr. John Craig was a Presbyterian minister who arrived in Augusta County, Virginia in 1740 at the age of 31. He founded Augusta Stone Church (also known as Old Stone Church), the oldest Presbyterian house of worship in continuous use in Virginia, and led the congregation in its early years, baptizing 133 people in 1740 and 82 in 1741.
