About Hillard
Hillard Whitley was the owner of the Albemarle Sweet Shop after it was purchased by the Whitley family in 1934. He changed the bakery's name to the Albemarle Bake Shop and moved it to its current location, running the business with his wife Jettie until they sold it to Harold Bagwell.
